What does yeast overgrowth do to the body?

  • Yeast overgrowth is one of the most prevalent yet unrecognized conditions of the modern man.
  • At any one time, 1 in 3 Americans is experiencing the symptoms of systemic yeast overgrowth.
  • Yeast (candida albicans) exists in everyone, appearing probably within a hour after birth.
  • Yeast lives in the intestinal tract, kept in check by good bacteria. When that balance is disrupted, uncontrolled yeast pierce the intestinal lining—a condition known as Leaky Gut Syndrome.
  • Inflammation caused by Leaky Gut Syndrome allows toxins, yeasts, and other mico-organisms to escape into the bloodstream, resulting in a variety of health-destructive conditions, including all those listed below. The immune system becomes exhausted, setting up the system for the possibility of chronic illnesses and degenerative diseases like cancer.
  • Yeast overgrowth makes red blood cell walls stiffen, reducing ability to deliver oxygen to all body tissues and organs.
  • Yeast overgrowth makes white blood cells stiffen, reducing their ability to absorb invading organisms. What do friendly bacteria (friendly flora) do for the body?Besides keeping yeast in check, friendly bacteria have many functions:
  • Manufacture B-vitamins, essential for energy production.
  • Produce enzymes essential for proper digestion.
  • Promote healthy bowel function.
  • Strengthen immune function (protect against cancer, yeast infections, etc.)
  • Detoxify environmental toxins
  • Metabolize hormones

LICENSING STATUS: Because of the way the new law governing Naturopathic Doctors here in Colorado has been written (House Bill 13-1111), my education does not qualify me to be licensed, certified, or registered by the state as a Naturopathic Doctor. Only those who attended Naturopathic medical schools can be licensed. My training was in historical/traditional naturopathy…which is entirely non-medical. That said, according to Senate Bill 13-215 I am free to continue helping people as I always have (nutritional consulting), but I can’t use the ND designation that I earned from Trinity, nor call myself a Dr. I can use the designation of Naturopath/Nutritionist.

OTHER LEGAL ISSUES: You need to know that part of the law states that I am to instruct you to discuss any of my recommendations with your primary care physician and/or other licensed health care professionals from whom you’re seeking help. You also need to know that I carry no liability insurance applicable to any injury caused by any of my advice.
